The Chinese Mobile Edition of Enter the Gungeon is a port of the game developed for mobile devices, released on the 30th of August 2024. It was developed and published in part by Chinese mobile game developer XD. The game is mostly a direct port of the PC version of Enter the Gungeon, with some additions, changes, and a limited time cross-over launch event with Cult of the Lamb.

Crossover Content

Stated to last from the release of the game until November 2024, the Cult of the Lamb crossover event added the ability to play as The Lamb, the games titular protagonist. Rather than being selected from the Breach, the Hero Shrine in the first room of the Keep of the Lead Lord is replaced by a unique 'Baa-Baa Lord' Shrine. Interacting with this shrine creates a Lamb Chest in the same room, containing the Red Crown.png Red Crown- allowing the player to transform into the Lamb.

Additions

  • Each Ammonomicon Entry contains an additional blue button which opens the corresponding page on the Chinese Language Community Wiki.
  • Items can be dropped with a special button in the inventory page of the Ammonomicon.
  • A user profile system which publically displays how many times a user has beaten the game, their favoured Gungeoneers, weapons, items, and how much of the Ammonomicon they have revealed.
  • Online co-op play, as well as additional co-op features;
    • An online game browser, with both locked and public lobbies.
    • The ability for both users to play any character, without requiring player 2 to be the Cultist.

Differences

Differences between the Chinese Mobile Port and the international PC version. Many changes in this category are related to the censorship of skeletons and gore, due to strict Chinese censorship laws surrounding the depiction of human remains.

  • Boss room doors and mats are changed to resemble helmets rather than skulls.
  • Several decorative skulls and skeletons in the Hollow have been changed to resemble helmets and bodies wearing helmets repectively.
  • Blobulins burst into white particles rather than splotches of red blobulonian matter on death.
  • Gigis and Great Bullet Sharks both turn white and poof into a white cloud on death.
  • Skullets are missing their nasal orifice and teeth grooves, and are given dim pupils in their eye sockets. This change does not affect the Ammonomicon or Skullmets.
  • The skull symbol on the lid of explosive barrels is replaced by a flame symbol.
  • The nasal orifice and teeth ridges of the Revolvenant have been removed, leaving the skull smooth. Additionally, the upper body of the revolvenant has been covered with a ragged blue shawl to conceal the ribcage.
  • Agonizers have been given a crown to conceal their forehead hole. Additionally, while firing, a tongue can be seen within the agonizers mouth.
  • Environmental blood in the Marines Past has been replaced by translucent black smudges.
  • Imps in the Marines Past do not leave blood splatters on taking damage.
  • The Treadnaughts bosscard has been edited to include two additional Tankers, and bullets flying through the air.
  • The first phase of the Lich appears to have a small mustache and beard to obfuscate the features of his skull.
  • The second phase of the Lich has had its nasal orifice removed and a pair of black headbands wrapped around his skull. These headbands serve to conceal the hole in his forehead, and superficially appear to be supporting the other bullets stuck into the Lichs skull. Additionally, this phase of the Lich has been given a ragged grey shawl which covers his shoulders.
  • In the menu, in "Video Setting" there is a "Camera Vision" option which lets you choose 3 different camera views "Tier 1", "Tier 2", and "Tier 3", is actually calling a method SetCameraScale(int scale) with 1, 2, 3 which lets you see more of the map around you.

Issues

Items noted in this category are presumed to be unintentional.

  • A number of sprites have been re-imported with incorrect compression settings, resulting in discolouration and loss of quality.
  • Red Shotgun Kin corpses are deeply tinted red, including the yellow brass section of their bodies.
  • Blue Shotgun Kin corpses are deeply tinted blue, including the yellow brass section of their bodies.
  • Player bullets caught by Gunjurers are sometimes not given a special shader to make them resemble enemy bullets.
  • The Cryo Button NPC is absent from level exits, but the base that the button slots into is not.
  • Pits of yellow slime in the Black Powder Mine are cross-crossed with a lattice of bright lines along tile borders.
  • The left and right idle animations of The Lamb appear to be swapped.
  • Blue Shotgun Kin will sometimes flicker red.
