Ammonomicon Entry

Ammonomicon High Gunjurer.png

Blue Mage
The High Gunjurers know exactly one more type of magic than their Red-robed siblings, and never let them forget it.

Their circular bullet-rings are a testament to their geomantic divinations.

High Gunjurers are Gunjurer.png Gunjurer variant enemies that appear in Enter the Gungeon.

Behaviour

High Gunjurers fire a massive ring of bullets at the player, comprised of smaller groups of three bullets each that circle around each other. Occasionally, the High Gunjurer will teleport away, and appear somewhere else in the room.

Notes

  • Gunjurer is a loose pun on the word Conjurer, a term for a person who performs magic tricks.
  • Despite supposedly being more advanced in the magical arts than Gunjurer.png Gunjurers, High Gunjurers can often be easier to dodge than their red-robed counterparts. According to developer statements, this is because despite being easier to dodge, the large bullet rings of the High Gunjurer are harder magic to cast- with High Gunjurers being more focused on showing off than being combat effective.[1]
  • The Ammonomicon quote "Blue Mage" may be a reference to the Blue Mage subclass in Final Fantasy XIV.
  • The reference to 'geomantic divinations' in the High Gunjurer's Ammonomicon entry is a reference to the practice of geomancy, or attempting to divine meaning in geometric features such as patterns of dots.
  • CMV Bug.png Bug In the Chinese Mobile Version of Enter the Gungeon, the emissive shader that causes the High Gunjurers eyes to glow has been misapplied, and instead causes a portion of their cloak to glow a bright blue.
