Better Than A Box Of Roses
This modified shotgun has been refitted for one-handed use.

The Winchester shotgun packs the same punch as a regular shotgun, but chambers more efficiently.

Winchester is a gun in Enter the Gungeon. It is similar to the Regular Shotgun, and has a higher fire rate, lower reload time, and less spread, but less max ammo.

Notes

  • The Winchester is wielded by Blue Shotgun Kin.
  • The Winchester is in the SHOTGUN gun class, meaning that it benefits from the Synergy.png Shotgun Affinity synergy.
  • The quote "Better Than A Box Of Roses" is a reference to a scene in the movie Terminator 2: Judgement Day, where the Terminator pulls a Winchester out of a box full of roses.
    • When reloading the Winchester, the player will spin the weapon backwards around the trigger hand. This is in imitation of what the Terminator does in the movie.
  • The Winchester is inspired by the model of 1887 shotgun by the eponymous company. This gun was the first truly successful repeating shotgun, ahead of the invention of the pump action that eventually eclipsed the lever action. While it is possible to reload a lever action one-handed as seen in the game and movie, it is not recommended, as it puts a lot of strain on the reloading mechanism.
  • The Winchester does not appear in Exit the Gungeon, however it still exists in the assets and text string database of the game. Like all real-world guns in Exit the Gungeon, the unused Winchester has a different name in the Apple Arcade string database, where it is called the Rosewood.
