Mousers are enemies that appear exclusively in the Resourceful Rat's Lair in Enter the Gungeon.

Behaviour

Mousers move almost identically to Spent, chasing the player around with minimal attacks and relying on overwhelming numbers to deal damage. Unlike Spent, Mousers do not summon reinforcement waves after being killed, nor do they have a lunge attack.

The movement speed of Mousers is based on player proximity, with the Mouser speeding up the further the player is away from them.

Notes

  • Because the base health of the Mouser is so low, it is possible to kill them by simply dodge rolling over them.
  • Mousers are the only regular enemy completely unique to the Resourceful Rat's Lair.
  • Mousers appear in exactly one room layout, and are also summoned by the Resourceful Rat boss during his second phase.
  • Mousers do not appear in the Ammonomicon.
    • Bug.png Bug If the player is killed by a Mouser, the Ammonomicon page will state that they were killed by a Spent. This is likely because the enemy prefab of the Spent was copied and pasted as a base for the Mouser, and the enemy name data was not changed.
  • Mousers are a reference to the robots of the same name from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.
  • In addition to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reference, the name 'Mouser' may also be a reference to the Mauser weapons manufacturer.
  • Mousers do not have idling animations for when they are not moving. Therefore, if deprived of a target to move towards (for instance if the player is hidden by items like the Smoke Bomb) they will run on the spot.
