This worm, itself a veteran of several artillery campaigns, is irresistible to a variety of gun-toting aquatic life. Because of their hunters' scorched-earth tactics, these worms have been hunted nearly to extinction.


The Bait Worm is an Item in Exit the Gungeon purchased in the Keep of the Lead Lord shop.

Effects

Notes

  • The Bait Worm isn't affected by discounts and buying it does not remove the Ring of Miserly Protection.
  • After being unlocked, the Bait Worm will always appear in the Keep of the Lead Lord shop.
  • The Bait Worm is one of the few items in Exit the Gungeon that does not appear in its predecessor, Enter the Gungeon.
  • The Bait Worm's Diginomicon entry is only available when it in the player's inventory.

Dialogue

  • There is a bounty notice on the wall, and reading it says the following:
    • BOUNTY NOTICE:
    • CONTRACT: PROOF OF TERMINATION
    • ABHORRENT, NEEDLESSLY OVER-ARMED BEAST
    • REWARD: UNTOLD RICHES, HATS, SENSE OF FULFILLMENT
    • BAIT PROVIDED
    • FOR NOMINAL FEE.
      • Options: <Examine Poster.> or <Do Nothing.>

Bugs

  • When purchasing an item in Exit the Gungeon, the players Money.png is not visually spent all at once, instead draining to the new total. In previous versions of the game, this was mechanical as well as visual, and it was possible for fast moving players to run to the shop after purchasing the Bait Worm before their money had drained in order to spend the same Money.png twice. Doing this would cause the players money amount to drain into a negative value. This has since been patched.
