No Butts About It
A shotgun modified for easy concealment. The shorter barrel widens the spread, but up-close, it's just as deadly as its full-barreled cousin.
The Sawed-Off is a gun that appears in Enter the Gungeon, where it serves as The Convict's secondary starting gun. It is a shotgun that fires four short-range bullets with low accuracy.
Other Appearances
- A gun that appears to be the Sawed-Off is held by Wolf in promotional art for the Payday Update, illustrated by Max Grecke.
Cut Content
- In pre-alpha versions of Enter the Gungeon, the Sawed-Off went by the name Sawed-Off Shotgun. In addition, this version of the gun had 200 maximum ammo and a magazine size of 8.[1]
Notes
- The Sawed-Off is in the SHOTGUN gun class, and as such benefits from the
Shotgun Affinity synergy.
- This also means that, according to the rules of how loot is distributed, holding the Sawed-Off makes finding other SHOTGUN type weapons more rare. It may be in the player's best interests to drop the Sawed-Off to increase their chances of finding a different, better shotgun.
- Notably, this makes it the only starting weapon to technically be part of a synergy.
- The animations of the Sawed-Off are physically inconsistent, with empty shells being ejected both on reload and the chambering of each new round.
- The line "No Butts About It" is a pun on the 'butt' or end of the stock of the gun being removed (sawed off in this case). It might also be a play on the phrase "no buts."
