Meta Info
Item ID:
33
Object Name:
Eyeball_Gun
Sprite Name:
eyeball_gunTear Jerker is a gun that appears in Enter the Gungeon.
Effects
- Shoots tears that pierce enemies and leave puddles of water on collision.
- The direction of these tears is affected by the player's momentum, meaning that tears angle in the direction the player is moving.
Synergies ETG
Tears of Blood - If the player has Bloody Eye, Tear Jerker's shots turn red and inflict slow.
Wrath Of The Blam - If the player has Directional Pad, Tear Jerker is replaced with a crying bullet head that can only fire in cardinal directions but deals double damage.
Item Interactions
Super Hot Watch - Because Super Hot Watch requires the player to move to progress time, it can interfere with the Tear Jerker's projectiles due to them inheriting the players momentum. This makes the Tear Jerker extremely difficult to use.
Unused and Cut Content
- There is an unused and unobtainable synergy form of the Tear Jerker in Enter the Gungeon, with the item ID 725. This form of the gun appears to be wearing the Sunglasses, suggesting it may have been a synergy between the two items.
- This unused synergy form of the Tear Jerker may be based on the item 20/20 from The Binding of Isaac, which is a pair of glasses which doubles Isaacs fired tears.
- This unused synergy form has identical stats to the base Tear Jerker, meaning that it was likely scrapped before a unique effect was implemented.
- The VFX collection of Enter the Gungeon contains unused enemy impact and horizontal wall impact VFX for the Tear Jerker's tears. In the actual game, the Tear Jerker uses it's vertical wall impact VFX for all of these collision types.
Notes
- Because the Tear Jerker uses the Water damage type, it deals 2x damage to Muzzle Wisps and Muzzle Flares, and does not ignite Coalers.
- The Tear Jerker also puts out decorative torches and burning skeletons.
- This gun and both of its synergies are references to The Binding of Isaac. The tears inheriting the player's momentum is based upon how player projectiles work in The Binding of Isaac.
- The name of the
Wrath Of The Blam synergy is a reference to Wrath of the Lamb, one of The Binding of Isaac's DLCs. - The maximum ammo capacity of 350 could be a reference to Isaac having a base starting damage of 3.50.
- The name of the
Gallery
- Tear Jerker's appearance with the
Wrath Of The Blam synergy. - An unused Tear Jerker synergy form, which appears to be wearing Sunglasses.
