Bananas resemble guns, and are high in potassium. A convenient snack and/or weapon for Gungeoneers.

Banana is a gun that appears in Enter the Gungeon and Exit the Gungeon.

Effects

  • Flings a banana that bounces once, and explodes upon destruction dealing 30 damage to nearby enemies.
  • Each time this banana hits a wall, regardless of whether it bounces or explodes, it creates two more bananas. These sub-bananas look identical to the original, and also bounce once, but they cannot create more bananas, and their smaller explosions only deal 10 damage.
    • The banana will also release two sub-bananas if it reaches the end of its range and detonates mid-air, or if it impacts an enemy.

Synergies ETG

  • Synergy.png Hornucopia - If the player has Charm Horn, the number of sub-bananas created each time the original banana bounces is increased from 2 to 4. Additionally, using Charm Horn while the Banana is equipped fires a banana at each enemy it charms. These bananas deal 1.1 damage on impact, and explode on impact dealing 10 additional damage to the impacted enemy and enemies nearby.

Item Interactions

  • Bouncy Bullets.png Bouncy Bullets - Each additional time the original Banana bounces, it will create two more sub-bananas. Because bouncy bullets adds two additional shot bounces, it raises the number of total sub-bananas per shot from 4 to 8.

Unused and Cut Content

  • UnusedSynergy.png Unused: Fruits & Vegetables - If the player has Broccoli, it causes an unknown effect.
  • There is an unused and unobtainable synergy form of the Banana in Enter the Gungeon, with the item ID 688. This version of the Banana is green, and may have been intended for use with the UnusedSynergy.png Fruits & Vegetables synergy.
    • This version of the Banana is identical to the regular Banana, except that one of the bananas that splits off from the initial projectile will also release two more bananas upon being destroyed or bouncing off a wall. If this additional splitting banana bounces multiple times, it will release more bananas with each ricochet.

Notes

  • This gun likely is a reference to the game Gorillas, itself referenced with a weapon of the same name from Worms.
  • The pickup quote is a reference to the plantain, a banana cultivar subgroup.
