Magic Lamp is a gun that appears in Enter the Gungeon and Exit the Gungeon.
Effects
- ETG Shooting an enemy causes a mote of blue energy (a wish) to appear above their head. Accumulating three 'wishes' on a single enemy summons a muscular Gunie (Gun Genie) to punch them for massive damage.
- XTG Shooting an enemy summons a Gunie to punch them for large damage. Each shot summons a gunie, with no need to accumulate three wishes.
Synergies ETG
Sweetness and Light - If the player also has Magic Sweet, Magic Lamp fires three projectiles at a time. The shots deal 25% of their original damage, but the genie deals full damage.
Item Interactions
- ETG
Scattershot,
Helix Bullets,
Double Vision,
Table Tech Sight - Items that multiply the amount of fired projectiles are extremely useful with the Magic Lamp, as each projectile counts as a wish. Items that fire 3 bullets in one shot can stack all three wishes in a single trigger pull.
- Gunies are not affected by the player's damage stat, meaning that
Scattershot effectively triples the rate at which Gunies can be summoned, without reducing their damage.
- Gunies are not affected by the player's damage stat, meaning that
Sweetness and Light +
Super Hot Watch - Switching away from Magic Lamp and switching back while time is stopped resets the guns cooldown, allowing it to be spam-fired.
Other Appearances
- The song ENTER THE GUNGEON on the Enter the Gungeon soundtrack references the Magic Lamp by name in a list of guns (Although it is simply referred to as Lamp)[1]
- A unique 1-Bit rendition of the Magic Lamps sprite appears on the opening page of the 'Guns' chapter in the Physical Ammonomicon.
Notes
- The Ammonomicon entry is a reference to the Disney film Aladdin, where one of the rules of the Genie character was that he won't kill anybody.
- The
Sweetness and Light synergy is a reference to an English idiom.
- ETG The Magic Lamp has the distinction of being item ID 0 in the Enter the Gungeon loot database.
- Dave Crooks has implied that Dodge Roll lead artist Joe Harty is responsible for the design of the Magic Lamp.[2]
