Exhilarating Reload Time
Fires ricochet rounds.

The Single Action Army may take some time to reload, but you'll hear no complaints from its users. Documents reclaimed from the Order of the True Gun imply that on occasion, a cultist briefly attains gunvana while chambering its rounds.

SAA is a gun in Enter the Gungeon and Exit the Gungeon.
In the Apple Arcade version of Exit the Gungeon, the SAA is called the Single Action.

Effects

The SAA fires bouncing bullets that can ricochet up to two times. Bullets will moderately adjust the angle of their ricochet to hit enemies, and bullets that ricochet gain a 1.5x damage multiplier.
This damage multiplier stacks each time the bullet ricochets. Additional bounces above the guns inherent 2 can be granted by items such as Bouncy Bullets. Bounces added by Bouncy Bullets also apply a 1.5x damage multiplier.

Number of Bounces: 0 1 2 3 4
Damage 8 12 18 27 40.5
DPS (Manual) 43.6 65.5 98.1 147.2 220.9
DPS (Automatic) 27.4 41.1 61.7 92.5 138.8

In addition to this, the SAA is notable for its very rapid reload.

Notes

  • SAA refers to the Colt Single Action Army.
  • If combined with Angry Bullets, the shots fired from the SAA will often bounce around the room multiple times, great for fighting large, slow moving enemies.
  • The gun also contains multiple references to Revolver Ocelot from Metal Gear Solid, who uses the Single Action Army as his weapon of choice.
    • Exhilarating Reload Time is a reference to Revolver Ocelot's similar quote when he uses this gun, "The reload time is exhilarating!".
    • This weapon's ability to bounce bullets off of walls is a reference to Ocelot's ability to ricochet bullets.
    • The synergy Synergy.png Pretty Good is a reference to Ocelot's catchphrase from Metal Gear Solid, "You're pretty good".
    • The SAA's spinning animation is a reference to Ocelot's tendency to twirl his guns.
  • In Exit the Gungeon the Ammonomicon entry of the SAA is slightly altered to exclude the word 'Army'.
    • While the resulting name of Single Action matches with the name of the SAA in the Apple Arcade version of Exit the Gungeon, this description change affects all versions of Exit the Gungeon.
