This magic horn is proof that at least one unicorn existed, and now is either dead or hornless. |
Unicorn Horn is a gun that appears in Enter the Gungeon and Exit the Gungeon. It fires a continuous rainbow beam with strong knockback that homes in on enemies. A unique song is played whenever it is fired. Increases Curse by 1 while carried.ETG
Synergies ETG
Crystal Horn - If the player has Luxin Cannon, Luxin Cannon gets three crystal shots at the end of every magazine, and the crystal bursts into many more crystals. Additionally, when an enemy is killed with the Unicorn Horn, they explode into Luxin Cannon projectiles.
Double Rainbow - If the player has Stuffed Star, while Stuffed Star is active, five Unicorn Horn beams are fired from the player in all directions.
Notes
- The song played by the Unicorn Horn is Unicorn Power!, composed by Enter the Gungeon sound designer Erica Hampson.
- If the player has Helix Bullets, the 2 rainbows fired will follow the same path, and will not lose their homing property, unlike most other homing guns with Helix Bullets.
- The rainbow beam and unique music track of this weapon may be a reference to the Parry Gripp song Space Unicorn.
- The
Curse given by this gun may be a reference to the Harry Potter franchise, where slaying a unicorn inflicts a curse upon the killer.
- It may also simply be due to horns being considered 'melee weapons'.
- The Ammonomicon quote "Fires Friendship" may be in reference to the television series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
Unused Content
- An old, unused appearance of the Unicorn Horn exists in the assets for Enter the Gungeon. This development form of the gun is much smaller.
- The VFX collection of Enter the Gungeon contains several unused effects for the Unicorn Horn, suggesting it may have originally been a projectile weapon rather than a beam. These include an unused muzzle flash, and projectile impact effects.
