Ammonomicon Entry
Music of the Spheres
Fires replicas of planets from a fictional solar system. Collect all eight!

Due to a trick in perspective, these two-dimensional planets appear spherical. Though much smaller than the source material, the planets created by this device will pack quite a punch.

Mr. Accretion Jr. is a gun that appears in Enter the Gungeon.

Effects

Mr. Accretion Jr. fires planets that resemble the 8 planets of the solar system. Each planet has different effects, and will start orbiting the player upon hitting a wall or obstacle.

Planet Damage Force Effect
Mercury 5 20 Inflicts fire
Venus 8 26 Inflicts poison
Earth 10 60 None
Mars 10 75 None
Jupiter 55 45 Explodes on impact
Saturn 30 30 None
Uranus 8 30 Freezes the enemy
Neptune 8 30 Freezes the enemy

Synergies ETG

  • Synergy.png Moonplanet - If the player also has Moonscraper, a moon that blocks enemy shots orbits the player while held.
  • Synergy.png Orrery - if the player has Orbital Bullets, it causes the planets fired by Mr. Accretion Jr. to have smaller bullets orbiting them like moons; these bullets persist when the missed shots start orbiting the player. Each planet only has 1 "moon" bullet, regardless of how many moons the corresponding planet has in real life.
  • Synergy.png Outer Limits - If the player has Singularity, firing three planets into Singularity's black hole causes it to explode and deal 100 damage to all enemies in the room.
  • Synergy.png Solar Flare - If the player has Flare Gun, it fires a meteor that pierces enemies and explodes.
  • Synergy.png Worlds of Guncraft - If the player also has Gunderfury, Gunderfury will occasionally shoot out Mr. Accretion Jr. shots.

Item Interactions

  • Black Hole Gun.png Black Hole Gun + Synergy.png Outer Limits - Firing three planets into black holes created by the Black Hole Gun will also trigger the effect of the synergy.

Notes

  • Firing or reloading Mr. Accretion Jr. releases a cloud of gas with a space texture. This effect is purely visual.
    • If the player attempts to reload when the gun is already full, it will still release this gas.
    • This gas is very similar to that released by the time rip that unlocks the Paradox.
  • The name Mr. Accretion Jr. is a reference to Accretion, the process that forms planets out of stellar dust. It is also a reference to the Scooty-Puff Jr., a comically ineffective vehicle resembling a childrens toy that appears in the Futurama episode The Why Of Fry.[1]
  • The Ammonomicon quote "Music of the Spheres" is a reference to Musica Universalis (also known as The Music of the Spheres), a long-standing ancient mathematical concept which relates the rotation of the heavenly bodies to various mathematical proportions, as well as the pitch of a string to its size. The phrase, and concept, was popularized in philosophy by Pythagoras, and later Plato.
  • The line "Due to a trick in perspective, these two-dimensional planets appear spherical." in this guns Ammonomicon description is a reference to flat earth theory, an archaic belief in the world being flat instead of round. It is also a reference to the fact that all sprites in Enter the Gungeon are literally two-dimensional, but exploit perspective and shading to appear three-dimensional.
  • In the real world, an Orrery is a mechanical model of the Solar System that illustrates the relative positions of the planets and their moons. The Synergy.png Orrery synergy likely uses this name due to the resemblance the player has to an orrery when surrounded by orbiting planets, each of which is being orbited by its own bullet-moon.
