1000 Needles!
Low damage, high rate of fire. Spiny!
Cactus is a gun that appears in Enter the Gungeon and Exit the Gungeon. It rapidly fires low-damage needles. Its high ammo, fast rate of fire, and infinite range make it a good room clearer, especially for earlier floors.
Synergies ETG
Cactus Flower - If the player has Broccoli or Orange, Cactus has a chance to fire a prickly pear that bounces off walls and fires needles in all directions.
- The chance to fire a prickly pear also applies to guns Duct Taped to Cactus with the synergy.
Vegetables - If the player also has Broccoli, Cactus's damage is tripled, needle size is doubled, and needles pierce enemies and bounce off obstacles.
Pea Cannon - If the player has Pea Shooter, its shots become larger, deal more damage, and explode.
Succulent DOOM - If the player has Starpew, every Cactus shot fires a spread of 5 needles.
Thorn Bath, ooh! - If the player has Armor of Thorns, Cactus's damage is increased by 30%. While holding Cactus, nails are periodically fired in all directions.
Item Interactions
Lich's Eye Bullets - Cactus with all its synergies combined is infamously powerful, being a reliable weapon far into the later chambers- even more so than most other weapons with all their synergies.
Remote Bullets +
Cactus Flower/
Succulent DOOM/
Thorn Bath, ooh!/
Lich's Eye Bullets - The sheer number of projectiles created by the cactus with its synergies makes Remote Bullets very potent. The ability to redirect all the countless cactus needles towards a single target results in massive damage.
Other Appearances
- The Cactus is shown among other guns on an official Enter the Gungeon tote bag, illustrated by Joseph Harmon.[1]
- The same illustration of the Cactus used for the tote bag appears on disc 3 of the 2022 special edition vinyl release of the Enter the Gungeon soundtrack.
Notes
- "1000 Needles!" is a reference to a move used by the Cactuar, a recurring enemy from the Final Fantasy series, who resembles a walking cactus.
- "Succulent DOOM" may possibly be a reference to the album Special Herbs by MF DOOM.
- The "undiscovered Chamber" in the Cactus' description may be the unused Old West floor.
