Death waits for us all.
The will of Kaliber incarnate. Hunts the living with unstoppable determination. |
The Gunreaper is an enemy that appears in Enter the Gungeon.
Behaviour
Gunreapers float slowly towards the player, periodically pausing to swing their massive gun-scythe, creating a wave of homing bullets in the players direction.
Gunreapers are immune to all forms of damage, but will dissolve once all other enemies in the room have been slain. Because the Gunreaper is invincible, it can block the player's projectiles without consequence, potentially allowing other enemies to take cover behind it.
Other Appearances
- A Gunreaper appears in early key art for Enter the Gungeon, illustrated by Maximo Lorenzo.
- A T-Shirt called the GTD Cultist Tee (GTD standing for Glow (in) The Dark) was for a time sold on the official Devolver Digital merchandise store. This shirt featured a unique neon-coloured depiction of a Gunreaper, hovering in front of an Eye of Providence. The illustration was created by John Cipriani.
Unused and Cut Content
- Exit the Gungeon does not have Steam trading cards, however a collection of trading card portraits was created by XTG artist contributor Miroko, but never used. The second of these unused XTG trading cards depicted a Gunreaper.
Notes
- Gunreapers are completely invulnerable to regular sources of damage, but are still vulnerable to transmogrification effects like the
Witch Pistol and
Snakemaker. They can also be killed by the
Partially-Eaten Cheese and the soulburn effect of the
High Kaliber.
- Despite being invulnerable, Gunreapers can still be frozen, stunned, encheesed, and charmed.
- If a Gunreaper spawns as the only enemy in a room (usually due to a timed spawn where the other enemies were killed very quickly) it will immediately vanish without firing a shot. It can still deal contact damage during its spawn animation.
