The most famous rifle in history.

This gun's usefulness and reliability have become legend. Though not native to the Gungeon, its arrival seemed to be expected by the Gundead.

M1 is a gun that appears in Enter the Gungeon and Exit the Gungeon.
In the Apple Arcade version of Exit the Gungeon, the M1 is called the Grand Rifle.

Effects

Bullets from the M1 pierce through enemies and decorations, and travel at an extremely high speed. Bullets from the M1 leave a trail of smoke in the air behind them, although this effect is purely visual.
On reload, the M1 makes a distinctive "ping" sound.

Notes

  • Although classified as semi-automatic, the M1 is functionally automatic, as its rate of fire does not benefit from tapping the fire button instead of holding it down.
  • There are several real guns with the name 'M1', however the shape (such as the band around the rifle's forend), distinctive pinging reload sound, and Ammonomicon entry of the weapon (Coupled with the fact that it is referred to as the 'Grand Rifle' in the Apple Arcade version of Exit the Gungeon) suggest that this rifle is the M1 Garand, a famous semi-automatic rifle that served as the mainstay of the US Army in World War 2.
  • The synergy Synergy.png M1 Multi-Tool is a reference to the MIDA Multi-Tool from the Destiny series. The boost to movement speed is based on MIDA's unique perk, and its appearance resembles a scout rifle from the Destiny series.
    • It resembles an M14 battle rifle, which was a replacement for the M1 Garand battle rifle using box magazines rather than an internal en-bloc-clip-fed magazine, and was capable of select-fire.
  • The synergy Synergy.png Smile, you son of a... is a reference to the final scene of the movie Jaws, where Martin Brody shoots a gas tank in a shark's mouth with an M1 Garand, making it explode.
  • The synergy Synergy.png Sniper Woof is a reference to Metal Gear Solid's Sniper Wolf character.
  • The name of the Synergy.png Mmmmmmmmm MMMMmm! synergy is likely a reference to the distinctive guitar notes prefacing each verse in "Fortunate Son" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Both the song and all three guns are heavily associated with the Vietnam War.
