Another standard adventurer's tool rendered less useful by the Gungeon's mysterious topology. Instead of returning to the surface, this rope will only provide an escape from a single room. Sometimes, though, that's all you need.

Escape Rope is an active item in Enter the Gungeon.
Effects
- Upon use, teleports the player into the Shop, resetting the current room if they are in an uncleared combat room.
- In the R&G Dept and Bullet Hell, which do not have shops, the player is teleported to the first room of the chamber.
- Cannot be used in the Resourceful Rat's Lair.
- Can teleport the player to other Merchants, if they are present on the floor.
Synergies ETG
All Out Of Law - If the player has Colt 1851, it fires three tight spreads of three bullets upon reloading. These projectiles can ignore tables when fired from behind them, and they can reveal secret rooms without angering the shopkeeper Bello.
Hydro Pump - If the player has Mega Douser, increases the Mega Douser's damage by 50%, triples its shot speed and knockback, and increases the stream's size.
Unused and Cut Content
Unused: Wonderful Toys - If the player has Utility Belt, it causes an unknown effect.
Notes
- Teleporting out of a boss room will return the boss to full health when the player re-enters.
- If the player takes damage to a boss and uses the Escape Rope to teleport out, they cannot earn a Master Round even if they take no damage on subsequent attempts at the boss.
- Resetting a boss with the Escape Rope results in the re-encounter with the boss having an independent chance of being jammed. For example, a non-jammed boss may be jammed on a subsequent visit, and a jammed boss may be non-jammed on a subsequent visit.
- When used to escape a room in Challenge Mode, the room will have different modifiers when re-entered.
- The number of modifiers, however, will still stay the same. For example, if you leave a 2-modifier room with the Escape Rope and come back to it, there will be 2 new modifiers in place of the old ones.
- Prior to the A Farewell to Arms Update, Escape Rope was a
tier item.
- This item is a reference to the item of the same name and similar effect in the Pokémon franchise. The
Hydro Pump synergy is a reference to the water-type Pokémon move Hydro Pump.
