An applicant to the School of Gunjuration, these neophyte mages crave the favor of their superiors.
Beware, for while they exhibit great cowardice themselves, they can make any other opponent substantially more powerful. |
- Not to be confused with Gunslinger.
Gunsingers are enemies that appear in Enter the Gungeon.
Behaviour
Gunsingers do not immediately attack the player directly, instead navigating to an area in the room and standing still. While undisturbed, the Gunsinger will buff a random enemy in the room, significantly increasing its health and movement speed. If the Gunsinger takes damage, or the player comes near them, they will run away to a new location, temporarily interrupting the buff.
If a Gunsinger is the only enemy left in the room, it will foam at the mouth for a few moments before madly charging the player in an attempt to deal contact damage.
Notes
- The name Gunsinger is a pun on the term 'Gunslinger'.
- Gunsingers will still buff enemies while charmed, making charming them largely useless. However, while charmed, they will not run away from the player.
- Gunsingers buffing enemies via the use of song is likely a reference to bardic inspiration from Dungeons & Dragons, the ability of a Bard to use music to empower their allies in battle.
