The Oubliette (pronounced "oo-blee-et" or /u.bliˈɛt/) is the second secret chamber of The Gungeon, appearing solely in Enter the Gungeon. It is a filthy, toxic sewer, built of pipes and panels, waste processing machinery, and rivers of toxic slime. It is packed with trash bags, and sick bullet kin writhe in agony on the ground.
This floor is accessed through a secret trapdoor in the Keep of the Lead Lord. The Keep of the Lead Lord always contains a room containing a Fireplace, which can be extinguished with any non-oil Goop and then interacted with to open the room containing the trapdoor to the Oubliette, which costs two keys to open.
Entering the Oubliette for the first time unlocks Trashcannon and the Grate Hall achievement.
Layout
The Oubliette follows a standard layout, with no major generation quirks. Unlike some later secret floors, the Oubliette still contains a Shop.
Since the Oubliette is entered via falling from above rather than arriving via elevator, there is no Elevator Maintenance Room in this chamber.
Points of Interest
Old Crest Room
The Oubliette will always contain a small rectangular room which resembles the shape of a chest room, but lacking a teleporter. Instead of a chest, this room contains a single pedestal holding an item called the Old Crest. The Old Crest is appended to the end of the player's healthbar as a piece of armor, and cannot be covered up. As such, taking damage while holding the Old Crest destroys it. Obtaining the Old Crest from this room is a requirement for accessing the Abbey of the True Gun in the Gungeon Proper.
Notes
- This room will always be a dead end.
- Secret Rooms will never be attached to this room.
- This room has a 50% chance to be sealed with a lock, requiring a key to open.
- This room is marked on the Map with the
symbol.

Notes
- There is no Master Round for defeating the Blobulord without taking damage.
- An oubliette is a secret dungeon accessible only via a trapdoor in its ceiling, fitting with the chamber's method of access.
- Among the decorations that can appear in the Oubliette is a barrel with a Bullet Kin stuffed inside of it, either right-side-up or upside-down.
- This prop is likely a pun on the idea of a bullet in the barrel of a gun.
- This may also be a reference to a similar prop seen in Blighttown, an infamous, similarly themed level featured in Dark Souls.
