Divide and Conquer
When a Blobulon dies, it immediately spawns two vengeful Blobuloids.

Substantially faster than their predecessor, Blobuloids are known for overwhelming their prey with pincer strategies.

Blobuloids are Blobulonian enemies that appear in Enter the Gungeon.

Behaviour

Blobuloids move towards the player at a slightly greater speed than Blobulons and attempt to deal contact damage. While moving, they leave a trail of inert red goop behind themselves. This goop is harmless, but may overwrite more harmful goops such as poison or fire.

While Blobuloids do spawn by default in some room layouts, they are most commonly encountered spawning from Blobulons, which spawn two Blobuloids upon death. If the Blobulon they spawned from is jammed, the Blobuloid will also be jammed.

On death, they split into two Blobulins, resulting in a total of four Blobulins per Blobulon. Similarly to their own creation, if the Blobuloid is jammed, the Blobulins that spawn from it will also be jammed.

Notes

  • Blobuloids do not appear in Exit the Gungeon. Instead, Blobulons split directly into two Blobulins, skipping the Blobuloid stage entirely.
  • The sprites of Blobulons and Blobuloids are mislabelled internally, with Blobulon sprites being labelled as Blobuloid and Blobuloid sprites being labelled Blobulon.
    • This is either a mistake, or an indication that the two names were swapped at some point in the development of Enter the Gungeon.
  • Because Blobuloids split into Blobulins, they do not leave corpses.
  • Blobuloids are unaffected by the Final Attack challenge modifier.
