A variety of liquids, known as Goop, can be found in the Gungeon. Sources of goop include items, guns, objects, and enemies.
All goop besides oil can be used to put out fuses on chests and the fireplace in the Keep of the Lead Lord. Gungine and Plunger restore ammo if reloaded while standing on any goop.
Common Goops
These goops have many different sources, and appear relatively frequently within the Gungeon.
Uncommon Goops
These goops are rarer, with only a small handful of sources each.
Goop States
In addition to their base states and effects, there are three additional states that can be applied to goop. Despite common misconception, these states are not goops in their own right. Each state is handled separately, and the three states can be applied at the same time- though this can only happen with the flammable water created by the
Mega Douser with the
Napalm B synergy.
Fire / Burning
Certain goops are considered flammable, and can be lit on fire, which quickly spreads throughout the goop pool setting it all ablaze. Different goops may ignite into different kinds of fire, although this potential is only utilised by Green Napalm. Goops that have been set on fire will inflict the fire status effect on enemies and the player, with the exception of Green Napalm which inflicts the green fire status effect on enemies and does not affect the player.
Flying enemies such as Gigis or Hollowpoints will be affected by burning goops, despite usually being immune to floor hazards. Despite this, if the player is flying, they will be immune to the effects of burning goop.
The Fireplace, and chest fuses can be extinguished by any goop that is not flammable. The specific absence of the flammable property is what determines if a given goop can be used for this purpose.
Frozen / Ice
Certain goops are considered freezable, and can be converted into ice which spreads throughout the goop pool until the entire pool is frozen over. Frozen goops do not have any special effect on enemies, but will cause the movement of players standing on them to be slippery, and difficult to control. Goops that are frozen cannot be electrified, however goops that are electrified can be frozen, resulting in electrified ice until the electrified state wears off.
Sources
Freezable goops can be frozen in the following ways;
- Any projectiles with the ice damage type will freeze applicable goops they pass over. Examples include the
Frost Giant and Ice Breaker.
- If an explosion is triggered with the ice damage type, it will create an additional pool of Water goop at its position, which is then immediately frozen.
- Ambient ice floor hazards in the Hollow will cause any freezable goop that touches them to also become frozen.

Electrified
Certain goops are considered conductive, and can be electrified. Unlike fire and ice, the electric state spreads throughout the entirety of the affected goop pool instantaneously, and does not spread to any additional goop spilled after the effect has started. Electrified goops will deal 10 damage per second to enemies that stand on it, as well as dealing half a heart of instant damage to players that touch it.

Electrified and frozen water goop. Since the frozen state prevents electrification, the water must be electrified first and then frozen. Has both the ice physics and damage effect on the player.
The same flammable water, both ignited and frozen at the same time. Inflicts both the fire status effect and ice physics on the player.
The same flammable water, ignited, frozen, and electrified. Applies the effects of all three states.
