This artifact of Kaliber was lost to time until the coming of the Mine Flayers and their interdimensional kin.

Holey Grail is a passive item in Enter the Gungeon.

Effects

  • Upon taking damage, triggers a full screen Blank.png Blank effect and refills 50% of the ammo of all the player's guns, rounded up.
  • Increases Curse rounded.png Curse by 1.

Synergies ETG

  • Synergy.png Empty Vessels - If the player has Bottle and takes damage while it is empty, it fills with a purple flame that deals 100 damage to all enemies in the room upon use.
  • Synergy.png Hellhole - If the player has Singularity, it spawns a hell portal that sucks enemies in and deals high damage.
  • Synergy.png Just Like The Real Thing - If the player has Shotgrub, it fires a wide spread of five bullets, which bounce back and split into waving bullets after hitting a wall, similar to the Shotgrub enemy's attack.
  • Synergy.png Kailber k'pow uboom k'bhang - If the player also has High Kaliber, the soul spawned by hitting an enemy with High Kaliber initially moves towards the player instead of away.
  • Synergy.png Kaliber's Grip - If the player has Abyssal Tentacle, it grabs two enemies at a time.
  • Synergy.png Kalibreath - If the player has Dragunfire, it turns grey, gains an increased rate of fire, and gains notable knockback on enemies, but loses piercing projectiles.
  • Synergy.png Pitch Perfect - If the player has Pitchfork, it fires green fireballs that set enemies permanently aflame.

Item Interactions

  • Makeshift Cannon.png Makeshift Cannon - Taking damage restores the ammo of the Makeshift Cannon, allowing it to be used many times in quick succession. This allows many bosses to be killed with ease, at the cost of mastery.
  • Balloon Gun.png Balloon Gun / Glass Cannon.png Glass Cannon - If Holey Grail was picked up after the Balloon Gun/Glass Cannon, it will restore part of the guns ammo after the player takes damage, effectively preventing it from breaking.
    • This effect does not work if the Holey Grail was picked up first, however this order can be easily rectified by dropping the Holey Grail and picking it up again.
  • GuNNER.png GuNNER - Because GuNNER allows the player to heal themselves after taking damage at the cost of ammo, and Holey Grail provides ammo whenever the player takes damage, these two items in combination make the player near immortal- provided they continue to re-collect the skulls dropped by GuNNER.
  • Prize Pistol.png Prize Pistol - Holey Grail cannot restore the ammo of the Prize Pistol.

Notes

  • The Blank.png Blank effect of this item can open Secret Rooms.
  • The item's chest tier might be a reference to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, where the true Holy Grail is a simple ceramic cup instead of a golden chalice.
  • [citation needed] Dodge Roll developers said in the past that this item may be related to the lore of a later expansion, presumably A Farewell to Arms.
    • This might either be false, or scrapped, as AFTA Indicator.png didn't have anything related to the Holey Grail.
