Piercing is a bullet effect and Stat in Enter the Gungeon. Bullets with a piercing modifier will pass through enemies, with the number of enemies they are capable of penetrating through determined by both their starting value and their owners AdditionalShotPiercing stat.

The default AdditionalShotPiercing stat for all Gungeoneers is 0.

Many guns have piercing as a default attribute of their projectiles. In this case, the players AdditionalShotPiercing will be added to the number of times the bullet can already pierce.

Effects of Piercing

  • For each level of Piercing on a projectile, the bullet can pass through one additional enemy.
  • Projectiles which are capable of piercing can pass through decorative breakables and tables.
  • Projectiles which are capable of piercing cannot be caught by Gunjurers, even if they have no remaining penetrating power left.

Notes

  • Only whole numbers of AdditionalShotPiercing have an effect on gameplay. If the players AdditionalShotPiercing is a decimal number (For example, 1.5) it will be rounded down to the nearest whole integer before being applied.
  • AdditionalShotPiercing is one of the few stats which increases additively, rather than multiplicatively.
