Damage is a Stat in Enter the Gungeon, which determines how much damage the players various Guns can inflict on Enemies. It is among the most important stats in the game.

The default Damage for all Gungeoneers is 1, however the Convict starts each run with the Enraging Photo which temporarily multiplies damage by 2 after taking damage. Because Damage is a multiplier, a damage stat of 1 means all guns deal 100% damage, while a damage stat of 1.2 means all guns deal 120% damage.

Increases damage by 70% while held.

Please note: Even though items such as Gilded Bullets, Cursed Bullets, Stout Bullets, Snowballets, Alpha Bullets, Omega Bullets, Unity, Broccoli, etc, increase bullet damage, they do not increase the player's actual damage stat, and thus have been excluded from the table.

Synergies

Rather than directly increasing the damage of a specific gun, synergies which increase the damage of a specific weapon actually modify the players damage stat while the gun is held.

Other

  • The Robot gains a permanent 5% damage increase every time it picks up a piece of Junk.
  • Using the Fallen Angel shrine permanently increases damage by 25%.
  • The Chance Shrine has a 0.1% chance to explode, and multiply the player's damage by 4 (among other effects).

Specific Damage Interactions

Most Companions, unless otherwise specified, benefit from the player's damage stat.

  • Blasphemy.png Blasphemy - While the sword beam projectile is affected by the damage stat, the melee slash is not, and always deals 14 damage.
  • Slinger.png Slinger - The gun that is thrown when the Slinger is reloaded is not affected by the damage stat, and always deals 4 damage.
  • Casey.png Casey - While the initial melee swing of Casey is affected by the damage stat, both reflected enemy bullets and launched enemy corpses are not.
  • Bullet (Gun).png Bullet, Shell.png Shell - The smaller bullets spawned from these guns main projectile are not affected by the damage stat.
  • Vorpal Gun.png Vorpal Gun, Vorpal Bullets.png Vorpal Bullets - Critical shot damage is affected by the damage stat.

Notes

  • Because damage increasing synergies actually affect the player's stats rather than modifying the target gun directly, it means they can inadvertently benefit items other than the gun they were intended for such as companions.
    • For example, holding the Flare Gun with the Synergy.png Emergency Help synergy will also increase the damage of bullet-firing companions by 50%.
