Y.V. Shrine - Additional projectiles created by these items also restore ammo to the Hyper Light Blaster, allowing the gun to make a profit on ammo for each bullet fired.
Drum Clip - Increases the magazine size of the weapon without increasing its maximum ammo, preventing the player from ever fully reloading the clip.
Ghost Bullets /
Angry Bullets - Shots from the Hyper Light Blaster will be immediately destroyed upon impacting an enemy, and will not pierce or rebound.
Vorpal Bullets /
Chance Bullets /
Bloody 9mm - Bullets replaced by these items will not restore ammo to the Hyper Light Blaster, even if they hit an enemy.
Flak Bullets - Smaller flak projectiles will not restore ammo to the Hyper Light Blaster.
Duct Tape - If Hyper Light Drifter is combined with another gun using duct tape, its laser bullets will still restore ammo to the combination gun, regardless of if the Hyper Light Blaster is the base of the combination.
Friend to Gun and Bullet - Bullets fired from an orbiting Hyper Light Blaster will also restore ammo to the main gun.
Notes
- Shot creatures do not need to be hostile to restore ammo to this gun. As such, shooting chickens and rats will still restore ammunition.
- Shooting an enemy that is in the midst of its death animation will still restore ammo, as long as the enemy hitbox still blocks bullets.
- Other shootable targets like chests, cursed pots, or explosive barrels will not restore ammo to the Hyper Light Blaster.
- The initial shot used to awaken a Mimic does not count as landing a hit on an enemy, and will not restore ammo.
- This gun, as well as its effect, is a reference to the game Hyper Light Drifter.
- The tagline is a quote from one of the monoliths seen in-game.
- Despite this, Hyper Light Blaster behaves differently from Hyper Light Drifter's pistol, where hitting enemies with the sword restores ammo rather than the gun itself. This change is mentioned in its Ammonomicon entry.
- The
Hard Light synergy changes the gun's appearance from the pistol to Zaliska, another gun from Hyper Light Drifter. The name of this synergy references the melee weapons in the Hyper Light Drifter universe being made of hard light.
- Whenever ammo is refunded, the center of the gun is opened, revealing a red, glowing core.
- The entry for the Hyper Light Blaster in the Physical Ammonomicon has a small doodle of the main character of Hyper Light Drifer swinging a sword.
- A depiction of the Hyper Light Blaster can be seen in the opening scroll of the Supply Drop Trailer.
