5 Shots Or 6?
This gun is unusually filthy for a handgun in the Gungeon. The Gundead spend much of their time polishing and greasing guns, though they conspicuously leave the Magnum alone.

Magnum is a gun that appears in Enter the Gungeon and Exit the Gungeon, as well as in Enter the Gungeon: House of the Gundead under a different name. It is a 6-round revolver that deals decent damage with a high fire rate.
In Enter the Gungeon: House of the Gundead and the Apple Arcade version of Exit the Gungeon, the Magnum is called the Hand Cannon.

SynergiesETG

  • Synergy.png Detective Magnum - If the player also has 38 Special, the guns are dual-wielded.
  • Synergy.png Reload Roll - If the player also has Easy Reload Bullets, dodge rolling reloads six bullets.
  • Synergy.png Wicked Sister - If the player also has Briefcase of Cash or Lies, the Magnum will transform into a larger variant with an axe head attached to the barrel. This form of the Magnum has a higher max ammo of 200, and shoots larger projectiles. Additionally, reloading the Magnum in this form will swing it as an axe, destroying nearby enemy projectiles and knocking back enemies.

Notes

  • The Magnum is the most commonly used enemy weapon in the Gungeon, being held by Bullet Kin, Veteran Bullet Kin, Minelets, Cardinals, Shroomers, Ashen Bullet Kin, Mutant Bullet Kin, Brown, Blue, Green, and Wall Mimics, Gun Fairies, Tombstoners, Gun Cultists, Red Caped Bullet Kin, Office Bullet Kin, Bullet Fish, Candle Guys, Brollets, Kalibullets, and KBullets
  • The quote "5 shots or 6?" is a reference to the film Dirty Harry.
    • The gun's description also is a reference to Harry calling his magnum a filthy gun.
  • The Synergy.png Reload Roll synergy may be a reference to Cassidy from Overwatch, who has the ability to reload his revolver while performing a roll.
  • The Synergy.png Wicked Sister synergy may be a reference to the Gentlemen Bastard series by author Scott Lynch in which the Wicked Sisters are the twin hatchets serving as the primary weapons of one of the series’ two protagonists - Jean Tannen.
  • The Magnum's altered form with the Synergy.png Wicked Sister synergy was originally an unused standalone gun, also named Wicked Sister.
  • The Synergy.png Detective Magnum synergy is likely a reference to the 1980s crime drama Magnum, P.I., a television series starring the titular character, Thomas Magnum, as a private investigator.
  • Two Magnums always appear in The Cultist's Past, one for each co-op player, to allow them to fight each other.
  • The unobtainable Magnum Titan gun used by Titan Bullet Kin appears to be an enlarged version of the Magnum.
