Npcparadise is a test level that exists in the level data of Enter the Gungeon, but is never accessible by the player outside of a modified game. It likely exists for developer testing, to allow developers at Dodge Roll to access all NPCs in a simple place instead of relying on the Gungeons usual randomised layout.

The level always generates with the tileset of the Gungeon Proper, and displays Gungeon Proper - Chamber ??? on entry.

Layout

The entry room of npcparadise

The layout of npcparadise is highly similar every time it is generated. The player always enters the level in a duplicate of the first room of the Keep of the Lead Lord, containing the Hero Shrine and a single corridor into a huge square room containing copies of almost every NPC in the game.

Main Room of the level. NPC Items have been pre-purchased for clarity.

In total, this large room contains Old Red (Both the Jailed and Shopkeeper versions of the NPC), Cursula (Jailed & Shopkeeper), Gunsling King and Manservantes (Jailed version), Professor Goopton (Jailed & Shopkeeper), Flynt (Jailed & Shopkeeper), Ledge Goblin (Jailed), Ox and Cadence (Jailed), The Lost Adventurer, Old Man, Frifle and the Grey Mauser (Jailed), Patches and Mendy, Sorceress (Jailed), Brother Albern (Notably does not spawn with his Truth Chest), Vampire, Witches, Muncher, Evil Muncher, Tinker (Initial conversation, all elevator variants, and elevator room versions of the NPC are present), Synergrace, Trorc, Doug (Breach merchant version only), Daisuke (Jailed), Monster Manuel, and Tonic (Jailed).
In addition, five random shrines also appear in the bottom right corner of the room.

This room also contains a single exit to the north, leading to a string of 7 randomly generated combat rooms from the Gungeon Proper. These rooms always have exactly one entrance and one exit, and must be traversed in a line, leading to a Winchester Shooting Gallery, an eighth combat room, and the exit elevator.
The combat rooms in this area may randomly be interspersed with NPC rooms such as shops or Gunsling King challenges, as per normal Gungeon generation.

Notes

  • Only shrines that appear in default shrine rooms can appear in npcparadise, meaning that the Cleansing Shrine and Challenge Shrine will never appear.
